About Our School
Cole Street Primary School has been on this site since 1929. Before that it was an ice rink.
The building has two floors with a playground on the roof. This commands very good views over Birkenhead and Liverpool.
We take children from 3-11 years and presently have 10 classes.
The Nursery, Reception Year 1 and year 2 children have 4 classes downstairs with a hall that doubles as the dining room. A recently renovated library extends along one side of the ground floor.
Year 3,4,5 and 6 occupy the 7 classrooms upstairs which surround the hall. In addition to the hall the children also play sport on the roof playground or use the facilities in the nearby Birkenhead Park.
We also have a computer suite and several small spaces for teaching small groups.
Our sports teams are very successful and we have a wide variety of extra clubs at lunchtime and after school. Read more about this on our club page.
